3 things you should know about school funding

Check out our newest report, The AACF Guide to School Funding.

Before you get started, here are three quick things you need to know:

  1. Public Schools serve nearly all Arkansas children. During the 2013-2014 school year, 95.7 percent of all K-12 students attended public schools.
  2. Investments in education are constitutionally required. Arkansas’s constitution requires the state to “adopt all suitable means to secure to the people the advantages and opportunities of education.”
  3. It is a significant part of our state’s budget. We have a free school system because we spend 42 cents of every tax dollar on public education in Arkansas.
