Dust off your muffin tins!

The 29th Annual Soup Sunday is quickly approaching. The date is February 21 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Embassy Suites in West Little Rock. Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12.

Restaurants are lining up with long time favorites such as Capitol Bistro, The Villa Italian Restaurant, Dave’s Place, Arkansas Children’s Hospital and more. We’re still hearing from chefs, but our first new restaurant this year is Ump’s Grill located at the Dickey Stephens Ballpark.

Our silent auction will be bigger and better than last year. Hot items this year will be two tickets to fly anywhere on Southwest Airlines and an Italian Dinner for 10 prepared by the AACF Board of Directors.

And who can forget the smooth, jazzy sounds of the Carl Mouton Ensemble featuring Ramona Smith? They sure got the kids and adults on the dance floor last year.

New this year will be our VIP Signature Soup Room. For an additional price, you will be able to enjoy a specialty soup prepared and served by Chef Mark Abernathy of the Red Door and Loca Luna. A specialty dessert and breads will be offered as well. Guests will also be able to meet Mary Twedt of KUAR’s Arkansas Cooks. Mary will share with you her favorite “comfort food” stories and maybe tell some food secrets. Beer, provided by Diamond Bear Brewery, and wine will be provided in the VIP Room as well. Tickets will be $50 per person which will include access to the main dining room and the VIP Signature Soup Room.
