On December 13, 2017, at 5 p.m. KABF 88.3 aired the thirty-seventh episode of “Speak Up Arkansas,” a talk radio show dedicated to covering issues like health care, education, juvenile justice, the state budget, family and economic security, and more.

Cathy Koehler, President, Arkansas Education Association and Tracey-Ann Nelson, Executive Director, AEA discuss the role of unions in the south. They explain how in Arkansas, the first right-to-work state, the AEA and other labor organizations were able to accomplished worker rights and benefits despite our right to work status. And why the people of Arkansas voted in 1944 for lower wages, higher poverty, and less safe workplaces.
