On December 20, 2017, at 5 p.m., KABF 88.3 aired the thirty-ninth episode of “Speak Up Arkansas,” a talk radio show dedicated to covering issues like health care, education, juvenile justice, the state budget, family and economic security, and more.

The guest for this show are Dr. Billy Thomas, M.D., Vice Chancellor of Diversity and Inclusion at the Center for Diversity Affairs at UAMS; and Kimberly Blann-Anderson, Outreach Director at the Center. They discussed the importance of a diverse health care workforce, the health care disparities in the system, what can be done to increase the diversity of it graduates, and UAMS programs for students of all ages to experience health care careers opportunities.
